Duties include:
- Designing and generating 3D CAD models, surface modeling, sheet metal design.
- Drafting complex assembly and fabrication drawings to manufacture customized automated machines and devices for various industrial application, leveraging cutting-edge software tools such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD etc.
- Perform GD&T methodologies & generate all necessary operational procedures, drawings, and BOMs per company standards.
- Coordinate project activities, lead design reviews and gate review client meetings between engineering departments and vendors.
- Utilize SolidWorks Stimulation for iterative prototyping and implement design modifications.
- Conduct design reviews and revisions.
- Conceptualize and execute mechanical design for robotic automation & develop enhanced CAD designs.
- Interpret and modify existing documentation to complete drawing packages, and conduct BOM audits, installation checklists, and machine specs for automated machines.
- Design plant layouts for new equipment and provide sales forecasts and product pricing input for new product development programs.
- Research & develop pneumatic & hydraulic equipment prototypes, collaborating with engineers and the production team to troubleshoot manufacturing issues and refine design.
- Utilize finite element analysis (FEA) methods. Participate in the planning, development, and deployment of complex mechanical architectures with a high level of integrated automation.
- Generate mechanical project execution artifacts of small to large scale deployments.
- Participate in the staged-gating process.
- Complete troubleshooting and root cause/corrective actions.
- Design, integrate and test mechanical parts and assemblies, industrial pneumatic and hydraulic systems as well as industrial electro-mechanical and robotic systems.
- Develop and maintain project documentation.
This position requires a Master’s degree in Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering.
